When was the last time you felt patriotic? Is it when you watched an Akshay Kumar movie or was it when you heard our Prime Minister’s speech? Or is it every time you listen to “Maa Tujhe Salaam” by A.R Rahman or “Teri Mitti” from Kesari?
“The last time I felt patriotic and extremely proud was when I saw the Repos mobile petrol pumps specially designed and manufactured for Border Roads Organisation.”
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) under the Ministry of Defence is tasked with developing and maintaining the roads network in the border regions of India and also in our friendly neighboring countries. Today BRO is developing and maintaining more than 32,000 km of roads in the border regions and is also taking care of numerous operational bridges in the country. It has also undertaken road projects in neighboring countries like Afghanistan, Myanmar, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka. Trusted with such important responsibilities, BRO is continuously making efforts to establish good connectivity in remote regions of the country that are not that well connected with the rest of the country.
When Chetan described his experience with BRO, his eyes glistened with joy and pride.
When I heard the account of it straight from the Horse’s mouth, It filled me with jubilance to hear his narration of getting on board with this project.
“They played the Indian National Anthem and gave me the Tricolour. That moment when they played the National Anthem, I felt that Repos had finally arrived.”
No one gets a project of such a magnitude so early in their career. This small project will be one of the most prized and proud projects we worked on.
In order to fuel the operations of BRO, Repos specially designed and developed Mobile petrol pumps. These mobile petrol pumps were manufactured considering all the essential needs of the operations in such difficult regions, these are special purpose vehicles that can carry thousands of liters of fuel from retail fuel outlets or fuel depots and then deliver them to sites of construction.
In the prevalent system, BRO personnel had to carry thousands of liters of fuel, loaded in the tanks and barrels, and transport it to the desired location with a vehicle load with these barrels. This was not just a tremendously cumbersome process but also it was a huge safety hazard. Now with the Repos designed petrol pumps, which are built to accommodate all these safety concerns, all these worries of BRO have gone away. This shall also reduce the turnaround time for fuel procurement and in turn speed up the development works of Border Roads Organisation.
Being the patriotic citizens of our great nation, we always feel like contributing to our nation and its forces. But not every one of us has the fortune to fight on the borders.
“Having this opportunity to aid the efforts of the Border Roads Organisation for the safety and security of the Nation is indeed a proud moment for the entire Repos family!”
We feel fortunate and very gratifying to have gotten this great opportunity!!
